Necrology Report needed

Each year in the November issue of The Bishop’s Bulletin we feature a complete listing of those of our diocesan family who have died during the past year. We need your assistance in compiling that list.

Please check your records and list the names of all members of your parish(es)/community who have died on or after October 1, 2019, through those who have died on or before September 30, 2020.

Please list (per parish/religious community)

  • Names of the dead (no nicknames, only proper names, like Helen Jones, not Mrs. Johnny Jones, or Jones, Helen).
  • Date of his/her death in chronological order.
  • For example: Helen Jones- Oct. 24; Jim Smith- Nov. 18; Carol Nelson- Jan. 17

Please respond even if your parish/community has recorded no deaths in this time period. Simply state “no deaths.”

We need your necrology information by October 8 or sooner. Please email Brianna Wingen at bwingen@sfcatholic.org or mail to Bishop’s Bulletin Necrology, 523 N. Duluth Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57104 with your completed Necrology report.

Thank you for your help with getting this report compiled. If you have any questions, call Brianna at 605-988-3789 or email at bwingen@sfcatholic.org.

Live with Dr. Chris – Scripture & The Mass

September 16, 7 p.m., Online
What’s the difference between studying the Bible on your own or with a group and hearing it proclaimed at Mass? At Mass, what is written in the Bible is “actualized,” and we are able to participate in it. Join Dr. Chris as he explores this more deeply. Go to www.youtube.com/SFDiocese/live to join in.

The Catholic Church: Why Does it Matter?

September 30, 7 p.m., St. Joseph – Mobridge or Online
We are living in uncertain and difficult times. Now, perhaps more than ever, we need the Gospel and grace of Jesus Christ to carry us through the wilderness in which we find ourselves. In this workshop, Dr. Chris Burgwald will help us to see anew the place where Jesus is most fully and powerfully present to us: in the Holy Mass. On September 30, rediscover the power of Jesus in the Eucharist to change your life. Go to www.sfcatholic.org/conversations for all the info or to watch.

The Holy Fathers Know Best

October 20, 7 p.m., St. Lambert – Sioux Falls or Online
How do we live as a faithful Catholic in the world today? According to Pope St. John Paul II, Pope Emeritus Benedict and Pope Francis, the answer lies in the documents of the Second Vatican Council. Even though it concluded 55 years ago, the Council remains as relevant as ever. Come see how they can deeply change your life. Go to www.sfcatholic.org/conversations for all the info or to watch.
Check out a complete list of Chris’s events.
