July = Safe Environment Renewal!

July = Safe Environment Renewal!

On July 1, 2023, all members of the diocese who are required to be compliant with the Safe Environment Policy (all clergy, religious, employees, as well as those whose ministry serves minors or vulnerable adults) are required to renew their compliance.

Click the link below to login to CMG Connect and renew your compliance!!

https://siouxfalls.cmgconnect.org/

If you are currently employed or in ministry, your due date for completion is July 31, 2023.

For all those who periodically minister (like religious education catechists or catholic school staff), they must be compliant BEFORE they are in ministry or are active in their employment capacity.

Special note for pastors: I need a local coordinator designation form from you for all locations you are responsible for as pastor. You will receive an email July 10 (Monday) with a form listing all locations in your pastorate, names of those who have been in the role, and notes regarding those who have been fulfilling the role at all locations in your pastorate.

Linked below is a general local coordinator designation form that is always acceptable to be used for this purpose.  However, the email July 10 will have a form created especially for your pastorate.

 All those who have been local coordinators will continue to be able to help employees and volunteers to complete this requirement by having admin role capacity to reset passwords, access custom-made PDF tutorials and videos.  If you need help completing your Safe Environment compliance, contact them first to help you.

I am also available 8:15 a.m.-5:15 p.m. Monday – Friday, aconemac@sfcatholic.org  605-988-3722

Please reach out to me for clarification or questions!

Set Ablaze Flocknote Information

The Set Ablaze Flocknote network is a free communication platform that is available to be used by any church or pastorate during the Set Ablaze pastoral planning process (ending approximately July 2024).
*If a parish or pastorate would like to continue to use Flocknote after July 2024, please contact the diocesan IT office and we can get information about costs and migration of data.
This communication tool is organized first by pastorate with every church within the pastorate listed below. This allows for communication at a pastorate level and/or an individual church level.
Pastorates and churches can add additional groups to the platform in order to communicate with those specific groups.
Examples of other groups:
  • finance councils
  • planning committees
  • pastoral councils

This network is pre-populated with members pulled from ParishSOFT Family Directory.

The criteria we used to pre-populate Flocknote

  1. Member had to be registered and active in the parish  “and”
  2. The member was 18 years or older (if there was no birthdate listed a minor may have been pulled in)  “and”
  3. Member had either a phone number or an email address listed (you must have an email or a mobile number to be a member of Flocknote)
*If the criteria listed above were not met, the member was not added to the pastorate or church. We would highly recommend that someone local review the members listed in each individual parish before sending any communication.
Flocknote user permission levels:
1. Group Admin – Can manage members (add, edit, delete), send notes (text or email) and change settings for this group and this group only. You can have multiple group admins. You can assign a group admin to the pastorate as a whole and you can assign different group admins to individual churches.
2. Note Sender – Note senders can send notes (text or email) to a particular group but can’t manage members (add, edit, delete) or change settings to the group.
Contact the diocesan IT office to gain access to this communication platform
