Summer Bible Studies

This Summer our Totus Tuus Missionaries are excited to offer summer bible/book studies for the youth of the diocese. Here's what you need to know:

What is the commitment?

Groups meet 1-3 times a week for 3-4 weeks.  Meetings will be one hour.  You can choose the level of time commitment that you are able to make when you register.   You will also be asked if you would like to be a part of the study in June and/or July.  You can commit to one month of both!

How big are the groups?

We are limiting the group size to six students and two Totus Tuus missionaries.  If possible, we'll strive to keep our group sizes limited to 3-4 youth to allow for more open discussion.

How do the groups meet?

In most cases, the groups will meet through Zoom video conferencing.  When possible, if group members are in the same community, we'll strive to meet in person following the current social distancing guidelines.

How are groups chosen?

We'll ask for your input when you register.  If you already have friends and a group in mind, we'd love to lead you!  If you're registering by yourself and don't have any preferences towards the group you are assigned to, we'll assign you to the group that makes the most sense for you.

What is covered in the bible/book study?

Again, we'll be asking you for some input when you register.  While our missionaries would love to share with you what they are learning and studying for the summer (primarily the Gospel of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles), they will be ready with a few other studies and topics as well.  In short, we want it to be an opportunity for you to learn more about the areas of the faith that of interest to you and allow this summer to be an opportunity for growth!

Is there a cost?

There will be no charge to participate in a bible study and there shouldn't be a need to purchase any extra books or materials.  You will need a bible!  At the same time, we are offering these efforts in faith this summer that people will be willing to support them financially.  Please consider making a donation.  We won't ask for anything upfront but parents and students will be invited to donate throughout the summer.

What if I have other questions?

Feel free to email our Summer Interns (youthintern@sfcatholic.org) if you have any questions.  They'd love to answer them for you!

Also!

Did you know we are hosting an online Youth Event every Wednesday throughout the Summer?
