Today the Church around the world, the universal church, recalls the dedication of the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of the Diocese of Rome, the diocesan home of the Pope. One hundred and twenty-five years ago this week, November 12, the Bishop of Rome, Pope Leo XIII formally erected or established the Diocese of Sioux Falls.
