In my mind, there was something intriguing and mysterious about the Catholics in my class. They were special. It was especially apparent when the kids would come to school on Ash Wednesday with smudges on their foreheads. The ashes we understood, but the thought that they would go to church before school was impressive. They already had been tagged lucky because of released time. Once a week they would leave school early to go to the Catholic Church for religious education while the rest of us had to stay and study. January 16-20, 2019 The 46th Annual March for Life will take place on Friday, January 18, 2019.  The Diocese of Sioux Falls through the Office of Marriage, Family, and Respect Life will be participating in the March and invites you to come along.  The pilgrimage will include participation in the March, the Catholic Life is Very Good youth rally, some free time to visit sites at our Nation’s Capital, and time at the National Basilica. Registration is full. Please pray for our pilgrims!

Mass of Healing for the Victims of Abuse Homily We come together today on this Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows to pray for healing and forgiveness, penance and reparation, mindful of the horror of sexual abuse in all its evil forms, but especially of children. A major reason we must do so is that in the midst of all the recent turmoil in the Church focusing on priests, bishops and internal politics, too often neglected, even forgotten, are the innocent victims whose lives have been changed forever because of the violation of trust and chastity by representatives of the Church Jesus Himself instituted.
