Peace that the World Cannot Give

directed by Monsignor Richard Mahowald

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

The focus on this day retreat will be on the peace which Jesus Christ brings us. Generally the word “Peace” is used as a conventional greeting. However, Jesus Christ elevates the meaning of peace. The liturgical significance of “Peace” is profound and is associated with end-time: salvation.  St. Paul, in Philippians 4:8,9, gives us a good reason for wanting to share with others a day dedicated to this theme; “My brothers, fill your minds with these things that are good and deserve praise:  things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely and honorable.  And the God who gives us peace will be with you.”

Beginning at 10 a.m. and running until 3 p.m., the schedule for the day includes Mass, talks, time for Confession, quiet time for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, great food and wonderful conversation. Please bring your Bible.
