Bishop Paul J. Swain and Father John Rutten are seen outside the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Zakopane (Krzeptowki), Poland, which was built by mountaineers in gratitude to the Virgin Mary for saving Pope St. John Paul II from the assassination attempt.

The bishop and Father Rutten, founding pastor of St. John Paul II, Harrisburg, were joined by pilgrims from across the diocese visiting holy places relating to Pope St. John Paul II, St. Faustina, St. Maximilian Kolbe and others.

They also visited Auschwitz. Zakopane is an area loved and often visited by Pope John St. Paul II as a young priest.
