Small Group Initiative

Small Group Initiative

What is the Small Group Initiative?

This initiative is a Diocesan-wide effort encouraging the faithful around the diocese to experience leading and/or participating in a small group.

How Does It Work?

With the assistance of NET missionaries and simple training from the Diocese, adults will be invited to lead a short-term small group (with adults or youth) for 6-8 weeks.

While the training and meetings will be hosted at three different locations, ALL parishes and adults around the diocese are invited to participate either on site or through the live streaming of the meetings, training sessions, etc. If you are interested in inviting others into discipleship, sign up and we’ll ensure you get what you need to get started!

What’s Expected of the Leaders?

Has God placed a desire on your heart to invite others into friendship and communion?  We pray this Small Group Initiative will give you the courage to do just that.  For those who are moved to take a leadership role in this initiative, we invite you to attend one of the Open Invitation Meetings.  Here’s we’ll discuss the roles and expectations of the leaders in this initiative.  In short, leaders will be encouraged to consider who they might invite into a small group and how their group will look. They’ll be given very simple and short training (at your leisure and online), and will be asked to lead their small group (often with a co-leader) for 6-8 weeks.

All leaders discerning to lead a youth small group will need to provide the diocese with an up to date background check and complete Safe Environment Training before beginning.

How Can We Participate Remotely?

We truly desire anyone in the diocese that is interested in participating to get involved!  Our Open Invitation Meetings will be held on site and will be livestreamed for anyone to participate in.  All other resources, training, and follow-up meetings for leaders will be available online as well.  You can do this!
