As a way of helping our clergy who are preparing for couples to be married in another diocese, the attached checklist has been created. The checklist was developed by Heather Claude-Eichholz, JCL the Director of our Marriage Tribunal, with input from fellow canonists serving in other dioceses. The resource is meant to assist our clergy so that marriage files can be complete when transmitted to sister dioceses in anticipation of the wedding. The checklist has also been posted on the Diocesan policy portal.
As a reminder, Heather has been designed by Bishop DeGrood to process all dispensation requests. She is also the designated contact at the chancery to whom completed marriage files should be sent when transmitting them to the other (arch)diocese where the wedding is to be celebrated. Timeliness of these submissions remains essential. Please allow at least two weeks in advance of the weddings when sending in forms.
