Two seminarians for the Diocese of Sioux Falls, will be ordained, God willing, to the Diaconate, one in May at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph and a second at St. Peter’s Basilica, Rome in October.

Michael Kapperman will be ordained a Transitional Deacon on May 30 at the Cathedral of Saint Joseph, Sioux Falls.

Kapperman was born on July 23, 1992 in Sioux Falls to Dennis and Carol Kapperman. He has three brothers, two older and one younger. St. George Parish, Hartford, has always been his home parish.

In 2014, Kapperman became a seminarian for the Diocese of Sioux Falls. He began his studies at the St. Paul Seminary School of Divinity in St. Paul, MN, and he continues to study there.

Anthony Klein will be ordained a Transitional Deacon on Oct. 3 at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.

Klein was born on June 24, 1993 in Sioux Falls to Steve and Briget Klein. He is the youngest in his family and has two older sisters. St. Lambert Parish in Sioux Falls has always been his home parish.

In 2012 Tony became a seminarian for the Diocese of Sioux Falls. He began his studies at St. John Vianney Seminary and the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Catholic Studies.

In 2016 he began theological formation at the North American College Seminary in Rome, Italy and he currently studies at the Pontifical University of the Angelicum in Rome.
