Effective, September 1, 2023 the Most Reverend Donald E. DeGrood has: granted the full pagella of priestly faculties to Reverend Edward Zemlik, SCJ at the request of the religious superior of the United States Province of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, and in accord with the attestation of his good standing with his religious community. Father Zemlik will be substituting for Reverend Hendrik Christianus who will be on sabbatical until September 2024. Father Zemlik has been assigned by the Provincial of the United States Province of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, to the pastoral team serving the parishes of St. Joseph, Ft. Living in the spirit of God

Often times when we think of "the little ones" we think God is referring only to children. While he may have been referring to children, Jesus was also referring to those who let the spirit of God into their hearts. This weekend in his homily, Bishop DeGrood reflected on what it means to be little. He also explained that God desires to live within us. And when we live in the spirit of God, the fruits of the Holy Spirit radiate through us.

First, in 2021 God blessed us by sending members of the religious community of Pro Ecclesia Sancta (PES), whose name means “for the holiness of the Church.” With two PES priests serving in Mitchell, and PES sisters and a men’s formation house with a PES priest and PES brothers in the Sioux Falls area great things have been happening.
