D-Camp

D-Camp (Discipleship Camp) is our Diocesan summer youth camp.  Junior High and High School youth come together for four days of faith and fun.  During the day you will hear talks to help you grow in your faith, bond with a small group of other teens, compete in all-camp Olympic games, have the chance to go to Mass, Confession, and Adoration, and meet lots of new friends!

For those who need financial assistance in order to attend camp, we recommend you first speak with your parish youth leader or pastor.   Oftentimes a parish is happy to assist financially for a youth to be able to experience camp.  There are also scholarship opportunities available through the generosity of others.  If you are in need of a scholarship for camp, please contact Becca Ekeren at rekeren@sfcatholic.org.

For those who are receiving financial assistance and want to register online, we are able to cater the online registration process to fit your needs.  Please contact Becca Ekeren at rekeren@sfcatholic.org for assistance.

Counselors

We need several counselors to help make camp a success! Counselors should be graduated high school with a fervor to share the faith and desire for their own personal growth as well.

Check back in November to apply!

History of D-Camp

D-Camp was started in the Diocese of Sioux Falls 1988. Originally hosted at Lake Poinsett, it now has its home at Broom Tree Retreat Center.

FAQ

Q. What if I can’t be there for all of camp?

A. It’s important that all campers are present throughout camp. If you can’t be there for all of camp you will be put on our waiting list. Preference will be given to those that can be at all of camp.

Q. What do I bring to camp?

You will receive a letter from us two weeks prior to camp containing important information such as arrival times, packing lists and more of what you can expect at camp.

Q. How do I get to camp?

Each camper is responsible for their own transportation to Broom Tree. Often, youth from parishes arrange a car pool.

Q. Can I bring my cell phone?

A. In order to enter into camp and get the most out of your week, it’s important to not be distracted. Therefore, we ask that all campers leave their cell phones powered off and in their bags.
