Planning
Planning is the process of being clear about the present, projectina a future that
seems desirable, and specifying the steps necessary to arrive at that future. (Pickett)
Purpose
Assist the Bishop in emphasizing the need and opportunity we have in this planning
process in a positive way.
Assure with the Bishop, the integrity of the planning process and sesitivity to
special circumstances and needs.
Assist the Bishop in defining his role when appropriate and to interject when needed.
Serve as a resource for Bishop Swain in the planning process.
The Planning committee will review the data, offer input and discussion as we develop
the issues and key strategies in planning for the Diocese of Sioux Falls.
They will participate in developing and reviewing recommendations to Bishop Swain
on the Strategic Plan for the diocese and the implementation of the Strategic Plan
for the diocese.
Prayer
Prayer is an active part of a planning process. The Planning Committee is encouraged
to pray daily and invite others to pray for the success of the Strategic Planning
Process and implementation.
