Reckless is an opportunity for married couples of all ages and stages to invest in their relationship, enjoy a night away and be inspired in their journey of faith!

We believe YOUR marriage is the heart of your home, your family, and society as a whole. We hope to give you and your spouse a chance to be intentional in your marriage…but reckless in your love.

Though staying at the hotel is not a requirement to attend the conference, we believe your experience will be drastically enhanced by not going home to the pile of dishes or dirty laundry after the powerful presentations on Saturday. Staying will make the weekend truly feel like a “getaway” and we’ve reserved a block of rooms at a discounted rate to help make it happen!

We’re ending Reckless the greatest way possible: with the celebration of Mass at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. After a day spent seeking deeper communion with each other on Saturday, we invite you to come together to receive Jesus in Holy Communion on Sunday. The Mass will include a special marriage blessing for all couples!

Date Night

Throughout the conference you’ll be inspired, encouraged and, hopefully, be dying to talk to your spouse about it all! You’re in luck. Go have dinner and a glass of wine together to unpack what struck you most. But then join us for some entertainment with dueling pianos! Dancing shoes not required, but fun attitude mandated at the door. 

We have partnered with a few restaurants who will be offering a special Reckless menu, just for you! Simply show your name badge to the waitstaff at participating restaurants. Participating restaurants coming soon!

Frequently Asked Questions

Due to limited space, we are unable to offer childcare on site. Further, our hope is that you and your spouse would enter into the conference as present as possible. As busy parents, we know that having your children with someone you know and trust for an extended period of time will aid in your ability to relax and enjoy the time away with your spouse. Therefore, we encourage you to contact family members or friends that would love to spend time with your children.

Absolutely! Lap infants are more than welcome. You’re welcome to use your discretion regarding age but we recommend children who are not yet walking so that you are able to stay present to your spouse throughout the weekend. Please let us know if you would like a private nursing space and we will make sure to prepare that for you!

This conference is designed to foster deeper growth and intimacy within loving and committed marriages. Though we firmly believe all marriages will benefit from this conference, we also recommend a Retrovaille retreat if you feel like your marriage is troubled.

Feel free to dress comfortably for the duration of the conference. Some couples may choose to bring nicer attire for their Saturday date night but it’s entirely up to you! We also encourage you to tuck a gift in your suitcase to give to your spouse as a simple way to commemorate the weekend.

Yes! The conference is designed as an overnight to assist couples in truly retreating from the hustle of everyday life and we strongly believe staying over will offer you the best experience! However, due to various circumstances, we recognize that might not be possible for you. You’re invited to participate as much as you’re able.

This conference is designed specifically for couples who have made the commitment to marriage. Engaged couples are welcome but may need to adapt some content to their current state in life or stick it in their pocket for later. Dating couples are welcome to attend as volunteers but should not plan to attend as participants.

For some this might be a funny question but we get it! The answer? No! This conference is for you and your spouse so as long as you’re OK talking with each other, you’ll be fine. That being said, the conference can be a great opportunity to meet other Catholic couples. Thus, we’ve created some evening entertainment that you can attend simply as a couple or with a group of friends to build some community!

Hotel check-in will be available after we conclude the final keynote on Saturday. Fear not: you’ll have plenty of time to check-in and freshen up before your date night. You’re welcome to keep your luggage in the car or drop it off at the hotel front desk on Saturday morning for storage. We will have a coat check available at the ballroom. 

Want to kickstart your weekend away by staying at the hotel Friday night and enjoying a Starbucks by the fire in the hotel lobby before making your way to ballroom? Great idea! You’re more than welcome to come in a night early. In order to access the discounted room rate for Friday night you’ll need to contact the hotel sales office at (605) 444-4704. Simply tell them you are coming for the Catholic Couples Conference and that you would like to stay Friday night as well. 

Dueling pianos is an interactive and lively evening of musical entertainment! Our hope is to offer an experience for you and your spouse to make a new memory together by laughing and enjoying fantastic music! While we recommend heading to dinner on your own, you’re more than welcome to meet up with other couples for the show! A cash bar will be available in the ballroom. 

As our expenses are incurred prior to the event, we are unable to offer refunds for cancellations. The event will happen regardless of weather. If you have concerns, please feel free to contact us!
