The Diocese of
Sioux Falls has decided to cancel this year’s version
of Ministry Day.
Diocesan department heads met this week and made the decision.
“There are a variety of factors working into this decision,”
said Jerome Klein, chancellor of the diocese.
First on that list is the fact the diocese still has no permanently
assigned bishop.
“We are also conscious of leaving as many avenues as
possible open to our next bishop,” said Klein.
Ministry Day or some other version of such a gathering could
develop when a new bishop is named.
The first two Ministry Day events drew large crowds and helped
the diocese and its people celebrate the diocesan church and
its ministries.
