Lent began on February 14 with Ash Wednesday.
The Christian faithful of the diocese received ashes on their foreheads and set out to do penance through prayer and fasting, abstinence and by exercising works of piety and charity.
Lent concludes at the end of the month with the arrival of Holy Week.
