A diocesan priest and a number of religious sisters are celebrating anniversaries of ordination or profession in the months ahead.

Father Chester Murtha, a priest of the diocese, grew up on the family farm outside of Woonsocket.  Father Murtha is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. He was ordained June 25, 1993.

Father Murtha is currently serving as pastor of St. Agatha Parish, Howard with mission parishes of St. William of Vercelli, Ramona and Church of the Epiphany

At Sacred Heart Monastery, Yankton Sister Grace Feldhacker and Sister Mary Carole Curran are celebrating jubilees of profession.

Sister Grace Feldhacker, OSB, grew up near Crofton, NE. She entered Sacred Heart Monastery in 1943. Sister Grace was an elementary teacher for 34 years in North and South Dakota and Nebraska. She also volunteered many years at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. She is retired and resides in the Saint Joseph’s Care Center.

Sister Mary Carole Curran, OSB, grew up in York, NE. She entered Sacred Heart Monastery in 1956. She has taught at the elementary, secondary, and college levels and worked as a therapist and counselor. She is past executive director of Catholic Family Services in Sioux Falls and St. Louis. She has been a psychologist with Avera Medical Group Behavioral Health in Yankton the last five years.

And in Sioux Falls, Sister Angelica de Jesus Eucaristia (Morales Rendon),  a member of the Perpetual Adoration Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, Sioux Falls, will celebrate her 25th jubilee of profession on Aug. 25.

Sister Angelica’s current ministry is serving at Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, Sioux Falls.
