With the theme “Light of the World,” the 2019 Christmas at the Cathedral concert didn’t disappoint the nearly 5,000 who attended. All six performances over four days sold out, raising needed funds for the the ongoing care of the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House (BDHH) and the cathedral.

The concert was headlined by tenor Scott Piper and soprano Jackie Stressman and conducted by Dan Goeller. The Christmas at the Cathedral Orchestra and Choir accompanied the performance.

The Catholic Community Foundation for Eastern South Dakota, who sponsors the concert each year, hosted a dinner and special concert the day before the regular performances for nearly 300 guests of the BDHH, St. Francis House, The Banquet, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, immigrant families, and families from Harmony, South Dakota. That concert was followed by a cookie reception. (Photo by Ellen Keena, Catholic Community Foundation of Eastern South Dakota)
